When is Qurbani 2026 in the UK?

Image
Qurbani takes place on the days of Eid-ul-Adha and in 2026 it is expected to begin on Wednesday 27 May 2026 in the UK , subject to moon sighting.   The Islamic calendar follows the lunar cycle, so the exact date depends on the sighting of the moon marking the start of Dhul Hijjah. Because of this, the date may vary slightly based on official announcements in the UK and different moon sighting methods followed by communities across the country each year.   Qurbani is performed over three days, from the 10th to the 12th of Dhul Hijjah, beginning after the Eid al-Adha prayer and continuing until sunset on the final day.   Expected key dates:   Eid al-Adha 2026 (UK): 27 May 2026  Qurbani days: 27 May - 29 May 2026  Last day of Qurbani: 29 May 2026    These dates are based on current projections and may change depending on confirmed moon sighting reports in the UK. Image
For over two decades, Muslim Charity has been working around the world to support vulnerable communities. Since 1999, our mission has been to provide life-saving humanitarian aid and long-term development support to those affected by poverty, conflict and natural disasters. From war-torn regions to remote villages devastated by disasters, Muslim Charity has delivered emergency aid, healthcare, education, food support and clean water projects across more than 16 countries worldwide. Belief that education empowers children and creates brighter futures. Belief that even in the darkest moments, hope can be rebuilt. Above all, this work has been made possible because of you — our donors, volunteers and supporters who have stood with us for more than two decades. Rescue Street Children in Bangladesh – Donate £25 to Save a Child Like Yeasin

Yeasin is just a child—but he sleeps on freezing streets, hides inside a sack to stay warm, and survives on whatever strangers give him. His father died. His mother abandoned him. Now, every single day is a fight for survival—against hunger, cold nights, violence, and fear. He sleeps on hard concrete. He goes days without proper food. Even basic safety is not guaranteed. And Yeasin is not alone. Over 450,000 children are living on the streets in Dhaka, facing constant risk of trafficking, forced labour, abuse, and life-threatening conditions. This isn’t rare. This is happening right now. But you can change that. Through *Muslim Charity* , your donation can directly help rescue vulnerable street children—giving them access to safe shelter, nutritious food, clothing, and long-term support. With just £25, you can help remove a child from the streets and give them a real chance at life. Not someday. Today. This is more than a donation. It’s your Sadaqah. It’s your chance to protect a...

What Are the Benefits of Giving Charity During Ramadan?

Image
Ramadan is one of the most sacred months of the Islamic calendar. It comes to us as a mercy, and an opportunity to move closer to Allah (swt), to have our sins forgiven and to reap rewards and blessings. Ramadan is full of reward, and the reward of any good deed we perform is multiplied manifold. Charity is considered a beautiful, highly rewarded and important act all year round, and was hugely advocated by Prophet Muhammad (saw), who was extremely generous and advocated for those less fortunate. Giving charity all year is a highly rewarded act, but in Ramadan, it is even more sacred. Anas narrated that: The Prophet (peace be upon him) was asked which fast was most virtuous after Ramadan? He said: “ Sha’ban in honour of Ramadan “. He was then asked: “ Which charity is best? ” He (saw) said: “ Charity in Ramadan. “ Due to the sacredness of Ramadan, many people choose to pay their Zakat in this month, or just before so it can be distributed during the holy month. This is in hopes ...
